Email Writing
E-mail:

In this age of computers, students should have
knowledge about how to write an e-mail. This topic stress on composing an
e-mail, which is the most modern, easiest and cheapest mode of communication.
Following are the tips one should keep in mind while writing an e-mail:

Generally, people use short forms in an e-mail,
like "how are you?" becomes "hw r u?".
·
In the examination, the ability of a student to
express his thoughts and his command over the language is tested. So, please do
not use short forms.
·
E-mails do not have residential commercial
address like letters. They have e-mail addresses.
·
In an e-mail, date and time are sent
automatically. You do not need to feed them manually in a computer, so do not
mention date and time.
Format of the formal E-mail
From : email address
of the writer/sender of the email
To : e-mail
address of the receiver
CC : e-mail
address of the receiver, if any
Subject : Subject of the email in 3 to 4 words
Salutation:
Dear/Respected,
Body of the email:
1st paragraph – introduction of the writer and
purpose of e-mail
2nd paragraph – conclusion ( in two or three
sentences)
Closure:
Yours truly/faithfully,
ABC/XYZ/Name given in introduction
Attachments:
Name the attachments if any, such as copy of business
documents, letters, photo, photo id, etc.

sender
2nd paragraph – purpose of email
3rd paragraph – conclusion /regards to
elder/love to young ones

Name the attachments if any, such as copy of invitation
cards, photographs, etc.
